First Time Homebuyer Mistakes: A Guide to Using Your Soul to Avoid Them

Want to avoid first time homebuyer mistakes?

There are three basic first-time home buyer mistakes:

Mistake #1 – Buying before you’re ready.

Mistake #2 – Not buying when you ARE ready.

Mistake #3 – Buying a house you’re unhappy with or becomes a financial burden.

These mistakes are typically made when the ego makes the decisions. The ego may harp on non-issues to keep you from buying or gloss over factencouraging you to buy when you shouldn’t

To buy at the right time, to be happy with your purchase and to be in financial balance, think of your soul as “The Boss” and your ego as the trusted employee. The Boss or your soul, needs the right information to make the best decisions and your ego is great at finding the information. As the Boss, start by asking your soul if owning a home fits into what your soul is calling you to do with your life now. If it does, it’s time for your ego to gather information about financing, the responsibilities of home ownership, possible home types, neighborhoods, Realtors, lenders, and anything else that concerns you. Then, let your soul do its job – making the decisions and discerning what issues to address and which to let go. If you’re having a hard time hearing your soul, take a break and ask your soul again later. You’ll know the soul’s answer when you feel at peace.
