Is technology starving your soul?
To have information technology in your Soul’s Home®, you’ll need to be sure it’s feeding your soul rather than sucking the soul out of you. So, how do you use information technology to be more soulful? To answer this question let’s look at the first part of information technology – Information.
The internet, smart phones, social media, T.V.’s provide information. Information about people’s experiences, what’s going on in the world, how things work or why you should buy something for example. This information is received by your ego and your ego wants you to act right away!
To nourish your soul, the soul must process the information before the ego responds. Why is this? It’s because what you are receiving are the thoughts and feelings of other people and while the ego may be content to act upon them, your soul needs time away from outside influences to discern what will feed your soul.
So, if you want to use technology to feed your soul, limit the types and amount of information you receive and unplug regularly to give your soul a chance to decide if and how to respond. I hope that you’ll give some thought to the technology you have in your home and how you can leverage it to feed your soul.
If you feel so moved, write about this below because sharing is good for your soul. Next time, we’ll find out if your ego is bad or good.
Until next week, I wish you well on your journey.
I love this, Suzanne! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
