Is your home aligned with your Culture and Religion?
The Soul’s Home® ingredient – Culture and Religion is often overlooked in today’s world so let’s take a closer look. Whether or not you’re part of an organized religion, it’s important to make a conscious choice about how you want your home to support your spirituality.
Some religions have specific requirements like a Kosher Kitchen or prayer room. But what if your faith practice has no requirements for your home? Then, identify where and how you’re best able to connect to your soul. It may be in your home like a spot to meditate, pray or do yoga, a writing corner, a garden or a deck overlooking a beautiful view. It may be outside your home, like being close to your religious institution or a place in nature.
Seeing and hearing water helps me tune into my soul’s guidance so I live on the Potomac River. What do you need to connect to your soul?
Like religion, culture is often overlooked. Make a conscious choice about the culture in your home. Part of your culture may be a multi-generational household or the cultural choices may be more about community living versus independence. If you’re looking for community, you might have a smaller home with an open floor plan.
For independence, a larger house with more private spaces may work better. There’s no right or wrong, what’s important is to make a conscious choice before you buy. Huge homes were popular among the rich but many found their size discouraged family interactions and have now chosen smaller homes.
